MT KACKAR (3937M) & MT ARARAT (5165 m) CLIMB
A wonderful combination and unforgettable
experience for hill walkers and history lovers
at the meeting point of nature, history and
culture. Two different regions, Kackar
Mountains - the wildest part of northeastern
Turkey and Mt. Ararat - the legendary highest
mountain of Turkey, will allow us to meet the
highest mountains of Turkey, the earliest
periods of history and the mixture of different
cultures.
Ideal for those who enjoy intensive
trekking. This tour includes 2 summit days
with a level of difficulty at high altitude.

Mt Ararat (5165 m) Climb the legendary

ITINERARY: 13 DAYS
Day 1: Erzurum - Yusufeli
Join the trip in Erzurum, and then transferred
to Yusufeli. Pension
Day 2: Yaylalar - Korahmet Valley
Transfer to Yaylalar village. In the afternoon,
warm-up trek in Korahmet Valley, where the
Bulut Mountains dominates the view ahead.
There is an opportunity to meet with the local
villagers. Return to Yaylalar. Camp
Day 3: Uzumlu
One of the best treks in Kackar Mountains,
not very challenging but the scenery makes
you glad to be in Kackar. Return to Yaylalar.

Day 4: Yaylalar - Dilberduzu
We trek up to Dilberduzu via high mountain
pastures following the stream comes from the
glaciers. During the trek we may encounter
the villagers that live here during the summer
to graze their flocks. Dilberduzu campsite
(2900m) is a flat meadow by the stream
surrounded by the steep hills. Camp
Day 5: Mt. Kackar - Summit Day(3937 m)
An early start for the Mt.Kackar Summit. An
easy but demanding ascent over rock and
scree without any technical difficulties. The
view from the summit above the clouds is
simply stunning with the whole Kackar range,
and beyond to the Caucaus. On a clear day,
you may have chance to see the Legendary
Mt. Ararat. After a short break on the summit
return to our Dilberduzu campsite. Camp
Day 6: Yaylalar - Yusufeli
In the morning descend to Yaylalar village
and transfer to Yusufeli. Relaxing time in this
small town known as one of the best rafting
center in the world. Pension
Day 7: Dogubeyazit
Half day drive to Dogubeyazit and free time in
the afternoon. Hotel
Day 8: Dogubeyazit - Mt Ararat (Base
Camp 3200 m)
In the morning, transfer to Eli Village by truck
where our Mt Ararat trek will start. Then trek
to Mt Ararat base camp at 3200 m. Camp
Day 9: Acclimatization day - Mt. Ararat
Acclimatization trek to Second Camp (4100
m.) and then return back to Base Camp.
Camp
Day 10: Mt.Ararat Second Camp
Trek up to Second Camp (4100 m.) where we
spend the night. Camp
Day 11: Mt.Ararat - Summit Day(5165m.)
An early start to the Summit, crossing the
upper snow covered slopes to finally reach
the summit of one of the world's most
enigmatic peaks. The ascent is demanding,
however those attempting it should be
confident in their own physical ability.
Although previous experience with ice axe
and crampons is not essential, but it is
recommended. We return to the Base Camp.

Day 12: Dogubeyazit Van (or Extra
Day)
According to weather conditions on Day 6, a
second summit attempt will be made.
Otherwise; in the morning, descend to Eli
Village and transfer to Dogubeyazit. Visit
Ishak Pasha Palace, the Ottoman governor
Ishak Pasa constructed the palace in 17th
century with a mixture of architectural styles.
Then we drive to Van, the ancient Urartian
capital of Tuspa. It is located on the east
coast of Turkeys biggest Lake Van. Hotel
Day 13: Van
Tour ends in Van
