5 days “back to the roots”

Day 1: After fetching you from the airport Jerez de la Frontera with our transfer Toyota we drive to Conil de la Frontera, to our basis. There you will first get a thorough instruction on the vehicles and then we start our route.
Our first experience is - Medina Sidonia “Pueblo Blanco” - a white village, well-known for its numerous bull breeders in its neighborhood. A very important sight to see is the Church Santa Maria la Coronado - a fine example of Andalucian Gothic architecture. Inside there is an enormous 15m high and exquisite retablo that typically depicts scenes from the life of Christ.
We have chosen a beautiful natural landscape Embalse de Celemin - an artificial lake for our first overnight stay. We will cook for you and after taking the meal we have time to sit together and recall together the highlights of the first day of your trip.

Day 2: After the breakfast we break out in the direction of Ronda. We enjoy marvelous landscapes and mountain air on the way. Several kilometers later we reach Ronda – impressing city on a rocky high plateau. Once a Celtic village, followed with the Roman “Laurus" it became the province capital “Hisn Rand Onda” under the Moors. Here the Arabs stayed nearly up to the fall of Granada. In 1485 the city capitulated to the catholic kings and became the today's Ronda… In the old town centre from the “Plaza del Campillo " we will have a picturesque view over the Toja ravine… Old Arab baths (Baños Àrabes) impress by their horseshoe Arches… Ronda is also famous as the birthplace of modern bullfighting, today glimpsed once a year at the spectacular Feria Goyesca. Held at the beginning of September, here fighters and some of the audience dress in the manner of Goya's sketches of life in the region. After the sightseeing we leave the city and drive to our night camp in the surrounding area of Ronda.

Day 3: Strengthened with the breakfast in the Andalucian fresh air, we start in the direction of our today’s goal Tarifa. The southernmost point of the European continent lies at the Strait of Gibraltar and borders on the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. The way to Tarifa leads through marvelous nature of the Serania (Mountains) de Ronda across Jimena de la Frontera toward Mediterranean and the coast along in the direction of Tarifa. The route offers a beautiful view on African Continent. Here we come in contact with the famous strong wind, for which the region is the Mecca of the wind-surfers. From the Castillo in the city centre we will have a scenic view of the coast of the neighboring continent. There, thus close to the other world we will break our night camp open. The unbelievable closeness to Africa and the Atlantic Ocean are our companions during dinner… who knows which dreams from the thousand and one night will arise in this night…


Day 4: Bolonia – Claudio Baelo is the next destination of our trip. The town was developed about 2000 years BC as a maritime link to Tangier. It became an important fish-salting industrial centre and was thriving at the time of Emperor Claudius (41 -45 AD).Its ruins show how important the town used to be as a fish-salting community. By the second century it was in decline and was nearly destroyed by an earthquake. By the sixth century AD it was abandoned. After visiting the ruins of Bolonia, we will have the possibility of “tapear” – eating tapas, like the Spaniards call it, near the beach, next to the ruins…
Afterwards, we drive to a camping site in Conil de la Frontera, where we have the possibility of bathing in the Atlantic Ocean, Kayaking, Mountain biking or just relaxing. In the evening we will have dinner together and relax after the day of full experiences.

Day 5: In the morning we will breakfast together and celebrate the past adventure. Afterwards we unfortunately have to say good-bye to our cult cars. Depending on the flight time you will have the possibility to once more enjoy Conil and the beach. After that Red Tours Transfer Toyota will take you back to the airport of Jerez de la Frontera (or Sevilla). We hope you will take unforgettable experiences and memories of Andalucia with you.

Accomodation is included in this tour: Our mobile accommodations are Toyota Land Cruisers - BJ 45, exclusively reconstructed to make them appropriate for these trips. Besides from their reliability, these vehicles meanwhile enjoy a kind “cult status”, you will see and experience it. You will not need to do without conveniences and a whiff of “luxury” during the journeys, the vehicles are adequately equipped.

Special Hints: Due to our Land Cruisers we are to a large extent independent in the routing. Both staying overnight and food accommodation take mostly place at selected locations in free nature. We transport everything we need during the excursions with our kitchen service car Toyota HJ 45: a mobile “Kitchen Station”, aluminum crates with food, beverages, lanterns and kitchen table-ware. To our equipment belong also a generator set, a tool kit, as well as cooling equipment for drinks and beverages.

Die Idee war, ein Fahrzeug in welchem zwei Leute Platz zum schlafen haben und welches mit Allrad ausgestattet sein sollte, zu einem Expeditionsmobil umzurüsten, um damit einen Trip durch Spanien und Marokko zu machen.

Gefunden haben wir einen 20 Jahre alten Toyota Landcruiser, der trotz seines Alters einen technisch und optisch guten Eindruck machte. Nach einigen Reparaturen an Blech und Technik und Innenausbauten, haben wir den Toyota rot lackieren lassen. Mittlerweile verfügen wir über eine ansehnliche Zahl von rotlackierten Toyota Landcruisern (alles BJ 45 und HJ 45).

Nach den ersten Touren, die im Jahr 2004 durchgeführt wurden, haben wir unser Programm ständig erweitert und verändert. Wir bieten unseren Kunden nicht nur interessante Fahrrouten und Übernachtungsplätze, sondern auch kulturelle Highlights, Off-Road, Entspannung und sportliche Aktivitäten.
