The wines produced in the Porto Region are heavy, opaque, very mature and with a red fruits aroma. Divided into three sub-regions, each of them with they own characteristics, the Baixo Corgo, the Alto Corgo and the Douto Superior, this region goes for more than 250.000 hectares, using grounds with granite. The legend tells that when the roman army reached the city of Oporto, they left all their belongings to fill their boats with the “nectar of the Gods”, produced on the hills of the river Douro. Since than, admired from almost everyone, the Porto Wine became one of the main Portugal’s symbol… A route with specialized technical accompaniment which includes car, guide, one night accommodation in a superior quality unit, 4 exceptional meals, wine tastes and visits to the mentioned producers.
