When the first king of Portugal, Afonso Henriques, delivered the destiny of the nation to the hands of Jesus Christ in the remote year 1143, he could not imagine the consequences of this act during the following thousand years. In deed, on the sinuous ways of history in Portugal, with episodes worthy to a romance and curious entangled acts that excite all visitors, Portugal has always based its evolution in a kind of profession of faith. The strong belief in the supernatural world, in the power of Church, and the perennial link between Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary, provided Portugal and the Portuguese the psychological conditions to affirm themselves in the medieval Europe. We suggest you a journey where you will get to know the most important places and monuments of the Portuguese religiosity and faith, crossing paths formed throughout many generations by the most marking processions of symbolic experience that shaped the Portuguese way of thinking and being. From the Minho to the Alentejo, with obligatory passage by the Sanctuary of Fátima, it will be six days of almost spontaneous emotions, in presence of the abyssal power that is visible in the places we will visit.
