The trip is intense, full of adventure, with possibilities to find wild animals and the most attractive landscapes: Visit to the most attractive place of the region, the amazing macaws’ clay lick "collpa" in the Bahuaja-Sonene National Park.

Day 1 You will be met for one of our staff members at the airport, and be transfer to the WASAI Maldonado Eco Lodge, where you will be greeted with a delicious tropical juice.. After a short rest, we will embark for a 4 hour motorboat trip up to the Tambopata River to WASAI Tambopata Lodge (box lunch on route). During the boat trip we will have the chance to see different kind of birds and mammals that live along the river bank of the Tambopata River, such as capybaras, caimans, turtles, vultures, parrots and macaws.. Upon arrival our staff member will help you to accommodate in your bungalow.

After dinner, your guide will give you a brief explanation and some tips for your security and comfort during your stay in the Amazon jungle. Then, your guide will introduce you to Amazon Rainforest ecosystems with a nocturnal walk.
Just to start, we will have a night walk trying to see some insects like frogs, spiders, tarantulas, moths and exotic animals only see on this part of the world.

Day 2 We will wake up early in the morning to start an hour journey though the Tambopata River to the Bahuaja- Sonene National Park. During the boat trip, we will see a magical sunrise and have the opportunity to see animals such as capybaras, tapir, jaguar, and deer. When we arrive to the Macaws’ clay lick we will see one of the world's great wildlife spectacles, when thousands of macaws, parrots and parakeets arrive in couples or groups, depending on the species. They spend hours at a time screeching, squabbling, gurgling and purring at each other in the crowns of trees surrounding the clay lick before they decide to descend to eat small portion of clay. At the end, more than 500 of parakeets and macaws congregate on the clay. We will have a hot drink and a snack while watching this spectacle. After that, we are going for a short walk searching for caimans, monkeys and more birds. We will return to the lodge to have a late breakfast.

After our late breakfast, we are going for a refreshing bath at the El Gato River.

. After lunch, we are going to start an Ethno-botanical walk to learn about medicinal plants and observe the wildlife surrounded. We will enter the territory of peccaries, deer, and others animals with the possibility to hear or see the tracks of them, or discover a troop of monkeys travelling through the forest searching for food.
After dinner, your guide will give you a brief explanation about caiman’s behaviour before to start an exciting journey around the Tambopata River searching for caimans.


Day 3 We will wake up with the beautiful sunrise of the jungle to leave the lodge. During the way back you will still have the opportunity to see wild animals and enjoy the fresh morning of the jungle. We will arrive at WASAI Maldonado Lodge.
