MACHU PICCHU SUNRISE & COLCA CANYON
9 Days 8 Nights

DAY 1 Arrival Lima:
Welcome to the fascinating country of Peru, Country of the Inkan empire, considered one of the greatest empires of the world. Arrive at Lima the capital of Peru and transfer to your Hotel.

DAY 2 Arrive to Cusco City (Capital of the Inkan Empire) & City Tour:
Transfer to your hotel and visit in the afternoon an Inkan temple dedicated to the Sun God, the cathedral of Cusco and the enormous fortress of Sacsayhuaman built with stones of up to 100 tons that amaze any visitor. You will also visit three more Inkan archaelogical sites close by. Transfer to your hotel in Cusco city (B)

DAY 3 Visit Machu Picchu one of the Wonders of the World:
This is one of the highlights of this great trip, you will go back hundreds of years ago. Get in the Orient Express Train and enjoy a three and a half hour journey of fascinating landscapes of green fields, colorful villages in the foothills of the Andes, massive agricultural terraces, and snow covered mountains; Arrive at Machu Picchu town where we catch our bus that is going to take us up to the sacred mountain where the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu is set. There one of our specialist guides will give you a guided tour around the agricultural zone, made up of terracing and food storehouses; and the urban zone, featuring the sacred sector, with temples, squares and royal tombs which have been carved to an extraordinary degree of perfection. Transfer to Aguas Calientes where you will enjoy a special tipical Peruvian lunch. During the afternoon take a relaxing bath in the natural thermal spring of Aguas Calientes (B)


DAY 4 Climb the Wayna Picchu mountain:
This morning we will catch the first bus to enjoy the magic sunrise at Machu Picchu. We then start climbing the mountain of Wayna Pichhu, a fabulous trek full of adrenaline. We walk by a small ledge at an amazing altitude that will be a challenge for you. Your recompense is the view on top (the most wonderful view of the whole citadel of Machu Picchu, you should not miss it!). After our odyssey we will come back to Aguas Calientes have lunch and catch the train back to Cusco city, and transfer to your hotel. You will remember this day for the rest of your life. (B)

DAY 5 Wild river rafting :
Enjoy this fascinating adventure day. We will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the Vilcanota river (Sacred River) where we will have wild river rafting rapids class 2, 3 & 4 (depending on the season and your ability). After finishing we enjoy BBQ lunch (vegetarian diet upon request) in the middle of the huge mountains of the Sacred Valley. After lunch you can take a relaxing sauna and in the afternoon we go back to Cusco City. At night you will be transfered to the bus station and travel to Arequipa City by a first class bus. (B,L)


DAY 6 Arequipa city tour
Wake up at the volcanic city of Arequipa. Transfer to your hotel and take the morning at leisure; During the afternoon enjoy a three hour sightseeing tour including the Santa Catalina Convent, the Plaza de Armas, the Jesuit Church of La Compañía and its beautifully-painted chapel, the Church of San Francisco, the San Lazaro District, Selva Alegre and the typical districts of Cayma and Yanahuara for a magnificent view of the volcano Misti. After all your visits transfer to the hotel. (B)

DAY 7 Wild vicuñas & Thermal springs:
This morning we will take you to the north of Arequipa around the Volcano Chachani and then we will arrive to the Pampa Cañahuas Reserve where you will see wild vicuñas, alpacas, llamas, birds like flamingoes, Andean goose, ducks, Andean eagle "Kara Kara", and you will also visit the viewpoint of the volcanoes and snow covered mountains in Patapampa. We continue the trip and arrive to Chivay, check in at the hotel and have lunch. During the afternoon you can take a bath in the thermal springs/pools of la Calera. At night we have dinner with typical Peruvian live music. (B)


DAY 8 Colca Canyon & Condor watching:
After breakfast, we leave to the viewpoint Cruz del Condor where you can see the sacred bird of the Andes “The Condor” and also the depth of the Colca Canyon. We stay at this place for about 1h 30m. On the way back we will visit traditional villages where people still keep their traditions wearing old typical costumes and still grow Andean products like quinoa, kiwicha and corn on the pre-Incan terraces. We will also see some archaeological places and colonial churches, then come back to Chivay have lunch and start the way back to Arequipa City. At night Good Bye dinner where you will enjoy the delicious Arequipeñan food.(B,D)


DAY 9 Fly from Arequipa to Lima and back home:
Transfer to the Arequipa Airport and depart from Arequipa to Lima and later to your final destination.(B)
