"The Sulternative Experience"

Day 1: Welcome to Muscat! After arriving in Muscat you are will be transferred to Majan Continental Hotel for check in. Your holiday has started so it is time to relax so take the rest of the day to gather your thoughts and get ready for what will be an experience never to be forgotten.

Day 2: Start your day with a delicious breakfast before leaving on a tour of Muscat City. The tour begins by visiting the Grande Mosque which stands exquisitely against the skyline. Once you have taken in the brilliance of the Grande Mosque it is time to head to Muttrah where we visit the vibrant fish market and lively Muttrah Souk. Bargain with the locals and see what treasures you can find lying around in the twisting and winding walkways. Your morning fulfilled you are dropped off safely at your hotel to enjoy the rest of the day lazing around the pool.

Day 3: Once again your day begins with a scrumptious breakfast where after you are picked up from the hotel to enjoy a full day Nizwa & Jibreen Tour. We drive through the Hajar mountains which in itself is a spectacular experience! On arriving in Nizwa we stop off to view the 17th century fort and souq. The fort was still in use until the end of the last century and the souq is world famous for its large collection of traditional silver jewelry. You are treated to a local Omani lunch, so let the flavours kiss your pallet as you enjoy the local food. Then it is off to the most beautiful fort in Oman. Feast your eyes on the marvel of artistry that has gone into constructing the ceilings and building. By the time the sun has sunk below the sands of time you would have been returned safely to your hotel to enjoy the evening as you see fit.

Day 4: It is time to check out from the hotel and head off for 2 nights, headed to the picturesque Ras Al Had & Wahiba Sands. The drive to Ras Al Had is definitely a postcard moment so don’t forget to have your camera handy. Sitting in the back of an air conditioned vehicle you will have time to take in all that you see as you pass through a number of small towns on the way to Ras Al Had. Most of the towns along the route make their livelihood from fishing and allow for picturesque settings of small fishing villages perched on the land that rises out of the ocean. Ask your guide to stop on route so that you can take memorable photographs of the crystal blue ocean lapping up gently against the shore. The towns of Tiwi and Sur are a definite highlight of the drive, Tiwi being a small fishing village and Sur a much larger town with an ancient harbour that still houses some of the original Dows that are still used today to catch the pride of the Omani oceans.
Your hotel in Ras Al Had provides you with more than comfortable accommodation, so why not have a quick power nap or take a stroll down to the lagoon mouth where you will be able to see the Dows returning from their fishing trips and possibly catch a glimpse of a puffer fish as it glides around the shallows in search of food. Later that evening you will be guided down to the beach for an unforgettable evening. Your breath will be taken away as you watch giant sea turtles make their way slowly up the beach to within meters of where they were hatched, up to 50 years before, to continue the legacy they have inherited. The beach is one of the largest turtle reserves in the world so make sure that you take everything in for this once in a lifetime opportunity. Your curiosity filled, you can stroll back to the hotel to the sound of the small Ghost crabs scuttling across the beach scavenging for food.
Enjoy a good nights rest, you have earned it!

Day 5: Another morning and yet another delicious breakfast and then it is off to discover Wadi bani Khalid. Then off once again to the Wahiba Sands camp for an unforgettable night under the stars in the desert. Feel what it is like to be completely free as you stare up at the radiance of the shiny sky and are warmed by the site of a fire crackling beside you as you slip into your imagination and tell stories of your discoveries.

Day 6: After a desert breakfast we say goodbye to the Wahiba Sands camp and head back to Muscat via the old town of Bidia. On your way see if you can catch site of the ship of the desert (a camel or two) or a few other desert roamers like the wild donkeys. We take the winding route over the Canyon Road until we have Muscat in our sites again. A beautiful group of memories lodged firmly in your mind we drop you at the Majan Continental Hotel for check in with enough time to relax and have a drink and a small bite before you drift off into reverie as you close your eyes and fall gently asleep ready for the day ahead.

Day 7: An early pick-up at the hotel is on the cards for today but not before you have enjoyed yet another wonderful breakfast. We head off to the Marina Bandar Al Rawdha for an enjoyable and remarkable day of dolphin watching with a drifting cruise along the Old Muscat City coastline. Let the feeling of complete and utter relaxation fill your soul as you wonder what it must be like to live in a world under the sea. As the sun sets lower into the sky you are transported back to your hotel with the memory of playful dolphins still fresh in your mind. It is time to stare out across the world as you sip on a cocktail made freshly for you and let your thoughts drift off as you listen to the sound of the ice cubes gently knocking against the side of your glass.

Day 8: Enjoy your last breakfast as it is time for you to be collected at the hotel and transferred back to the Airport for your departure. Sadly all good things have to come to an end at some point but never fear or fret as we will be here next time you would like the holiday of your dreams.
