"LOMBOK BIKE ADVENTURE TOUR"

Short but exceptional bike tour through the original Lombok. We cross the Lombok-strait with ferry-boat, enjoy by snorkelling or diving for one day the Gili Island before we cross highland of Sembalun.



1st Day: ARRIVAL IN DENPASAR
Pick up from Airport Denpasar. There will be enough time for a Welcome-Cocktail, the completion of the bikes and a short trip to the centre of Padang Bai, where we will also have dinner.

2nd Day: LOMBOK ISLAND
The 4-5 hours long crossing will be very interesting and adventurous. Once we have reached the island Nusa Penidia you can already see Lombok with the impressive Rinjani-massif.
After the landing in Lembar we will have to bike 35 km through the originally Lombok to our hotel with pool at the beach. At sundown we will admire Bali with the volcano Agung as a silhouette in the deep red sunlight.

3rd Day: GILLI ISLANDS
Our tour along the steep cliffs with snow-white bays, coco-palms and picturesque fisherman-villages will be up and down like being in a rollercoaster. From far away we can make out the 3 Gili islands in the glittering ocean. We will reach our South sea - destination by boat and Gili Trawangan will let us forget the rest of the world for 1 day………………
You can satisfy your desire for swimming, snorkelling or just relaxing in the sun……….

4th Day: SIDANGGALA WATERFALL
Saying Good-bye to the Gili islands will break our hearts, but the climax of the tour has not been reached yet. After a short boat tour we will bike flatly through peanut-plantations and rice-fields, which have been built to fit into the original landscape. The second part of this tour will be more interesting and we will have to make some 500 alti-metre to our base-camp. Our bungalows provide a splendid view and we can enjoy the sunset once again.

5th Day: HIGHLAND OF SEMBALUN
First we ride down, after that a hilly landscap with peanut- and tobacco-plantations. But the last part is just uphill. Late in afternoon we arrive our simple hotel in the highland of Sembalun, a beautiful landscape. We spend the night in the near Rinjani Natianalparc in a simple hotel
- Distance: 38 km , alti-metre: 900 , Coating : asphalt, Length: approx. 5 hrs.

6th Day: BAMBOO DOWNHILL
We will cross the " Highland of Sembalun" with impressive mountains by bike making 500 alti-metre through rain-forest up to the pass. As a reward we will enjoy the downhill of 25 km length through richly green vegetation, bamboo-jungle and tobacco-plantations!
A typical hotel in a lively small town at the ocean will be our aim for this day.
- Distance: 54 km , alti-metre: 600 , Coating : asphalt, Length: approx. 7 hrs.

7th Day: EKAS BAY
Onwards to the South-coastline. You will learn the original salt-making in a small family business before we reach a small fisherman-village at the edge of the Ekas-Bay.
We can relax on our boat tour over the blue sea and will easily make the remaining kilometres over a soft hill along coco-palms and bananas to our hotel.

8th Day: BACK TO BALI
Our last stage will lead through picturesque hills, plantations of spices and romantic swimming bays. The way to the harbour of the ferry will go through lonely villages with friendly, curious people. The speed boat will bring us in 2 hours back to Bali and the escorting bus will drive safely through the busy streets of Denpasar. Arrival in the late evening, we spend the night in a hotel near the beach.

9th Day: DENPASAR AIRPORT
In the morning lots of time to relax and pack, than Bustransfer to Airport Denpasar.
You may even find time to purchase some last souvenirs.

"Die Idee "COCOSTRAVEL" kam mir 2001 bei einem superlangen Downhill von einem mächtigen Vulkan auf der Insel Java. Damals war ich bereits zum zweiten Mal für längere Zeit zum Biken mit dem Fahrrad auf den Inseln Bali und Java, aber Cocostravel war nur ein Traum. Dann folgten im Jahr 2002 wieder zwei längere Aufenthalte um die Touren mit dem Bike perfekt zu machen. Zur Seite standen mir Heriyanto mit seinen Freunden auf der schönen Insel Java, Wayan von der " Bali Cycle Federation" zum Radeln auf der geheimnisvollen Insel Bali. Ariani war und ist für die organisatorischen Dinge auf Bali zuständig. Mardi und Wayan begleiten uns mit den Fahrzeugen und sorgen für das leibliche Wohl in den Camps. Das Ergebnis sind nun 7 verschiedene Bike-Touren (8/9/11/14 und 17 Tage), von leicht bis mittelschwer und 7 verschiedene Tages-/Mehrtagestouren (Trekking, Radeln, Schnorcheln), die auf Euch warten. Wer jetzt denkt, das Klima auf diesen Inseln ist zum Radfahren zu heiß, der irrt, denn wir bewegen uns immer in einer gewissen Höhe und oft kommen wir nur abends an den Ozean.
