"GRAND CITY TOUR"

The tour begins at the Plaza de Bolívar where we will appreciate the Prime Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, the National Capitol, Casa 20 de Julio, Liebano Palace (the Mayor’s Office), and the Justice Palace. Then, we will walk through the streets of La Candelaria, the historical district, and observe it’s surprising colonial architecture and the district’s different attractions. We will visit the Botero Museum which houses an amazing collection of Fernando Botero works and many other world-famous artists. The next step of the tour will be the temporary exhibition of the Gold Museum (actually closed due to remodelation), home of the world’s largest pre-Hispanic gold work collection, which is just a short stroll away.

After this, you'll have an included lunch break at a typical Colombian restaurant. Then, you will then be taken to the Monserrate Sanctuary, world famous pilgrimage site, by funicular (railway) or cable car. It rises 3152 meters (around 10341 ft) above sea level and happens to be the best place to enjoy a full view of the capital. We will continue our tour in the Quinta de Bolivar, home of the well-known Simon Bolivar, liberator of the Andean countries. On your way out, there will be a brief stop to learn about the emerald process. We will then drive to the northern part of the city, sightseeing the Planetarium, Bullring, International Center, National Park, Lourdes Plaza, Zona G, the Financial District, the 15th Avenue and the Parque de la 93. Finally, the tour ends with a visit to the quaint and picturesque sector of Usaquén, located at the northern part of the city. During the tour we will offer a concise overview of our pre-Hispanic, colonial and contemporary history. At the end of the excursion, you will be dropped off at your hotel or at a convenient place within the urban area.
